Week 13

It's week 13 now. This Saturday is the submission date.  And our webpage still have many not yet done. I am so sorry about that because of me as a leader, I not yet done those fixed things like layout, footer, navigation bar, facebook button for my team mate. Because of something I can't solve so that I had make everything progress slow. Felt sorry about it.

In this week. I had fixed the things that need to be fix. And I had done pages that I need to be done. We distribute the pages so that it is fair for us. I done the 2 pages are How to Help and News and Activity. I done it before I give the file to them so that they just need to change it and put their things inside. It would be much more easier for them.

For the header, facebook button and navigation bar which I wanted it to be fixed on that place, I had create style for it so that it can be fixed at the position.

This is the style that I had created and the position I put fixed so that when i scroll it the thing will still be at the position.

Other than that, I when the browser is restore down, I want the navigation bar to become a hamburger menu at beside. I search for bootstrap to look for the code which can become the hamburger menu.

For the slider, it is not my part but I also help them to insert it. We used wow slider other than bootstrap. Why we use wow slider because we not really know how to use the bootstrap slider. And we learned how to use wow slider when Semester 2.

Week 12

We still left 1 more week to do the assignment. But what? Everyone in the class rushing for other assignment which used most of the time to done it. But for me, even I am rushing for other assignment, I still do at least a bit of this assignment.

The header, Facebook button and navigation bar is fixed at there. But this one not yet fixed. Still wondering how to fixed it at the position. Putting the navigation bar at the left is also quite challenging for me. And because of that, I search for Bootstrap website to look for it. 

I search for Bootstrap Pills and look for the vertical pills so that I can put my Navigation bar at the left of the website.

I also created my own style to change the color of the navigation bar.

Week 11

And so this week, I attend to class of course. Mr. Yong continue his lesson about boostrap in class. This week's lesson is put the slider. Typing code is really a challenging things for me seriously. Any code wrong and need to change the code. Type less or type wrong a small little word can ruin almost everything.

I must learn how to put a slider because we wanted to apply it in our webpage. But for the progression of assignment, we had no progress in this week.

Week 10

Left 3 weeks is the the submission date. In this week, I didn't attend for class just because of rushing got other assignment. I felt sorry about it. I wanted to go but my friends came to my house early in the morning to done the other assignment so I had no choice.

But then, for our assignment, I had create a layout in Adobe Dreamweaver as a guide to continue our assignment. It will be much more easy when the layout is done.

Week 9

In this week, I learnt more about bootstrap in class. By using bootstrap, everything become easier when it apply to the website.

What did I really learn in class is the navigation bar. It is really hard but quite challenging for me.

For our assignment, we continue our final visual design which we not yet done for the volunteer and donate pages. And  we changed some color of the website.

Week 8

It's week 8 is the presentation week. Hopefully we still can finish our things on time.

Week 7

It's half of the semester, no class for Monday and Tuesday because of Deepavali!!
Sounds great to have no class but nope. We still need to rush our assignments. This week I learned Bootstrap in class. Bootstrap is also an easy way to create a webpage. Somehow I feel hard to catch up in class because of I can't even focus well when the night before I don't have enough sleep. Burn midnight oil is a must for me when there are tons of assignment need to be done. Managing time is so important. I always try to manage my time to do things but at last everything not going well as I plan.
Finally we almost done our report although everyone burning midnight oil just to done assignments.

Week 6

The start of November. In this week, I learned how to create a form in Adobe Dreamweaver. Is quite easy and I already learned it when semester 2 but not really remember. I learned something additional also, that is what I don't even know what is that. After know how to use CSS, I found it is quite easy to use.

For our assignment progression, we didn't do much but we just analyse the website. It is a non-profit organization website which is Persatuan Rumah Caring Kajang Selangor, an old folks home catering 32 inmates ranging from age 50 years to 95 years old inclusive of care givers. They also look into the welfare and needs of single mothers with children and young unmarried mothers.

This website used two colors which is green and brown. The design is simple and easy to understand. It’s about a home came into existence in the month of May 2004, occupying two double storey houses in a quiet neighborhood. It is a non-profit organization looking into the welfare of the needy. Currently, they are running an old folks home catering 32 inmates ranging from age 50 years to 95 years old inclusive of care givers. They also look into the welfare and needs of single mothers with children and young unmarried mothers. They need RM 14,000.00 monthly to run the home to support the home in order to meet the needs of the old folks here with better nursing, health and logistic care.

In our opinion, this web design is not good enough and it is not attracting especially the colors. We plan to change the layout and the colors of the website.

We plan to change the color of the website for sure and we might change the layout of the website. We search for color and meaning which means hope and life. We choose a non- profit organization and if there is a hope there has a life. Without hope they might feel they are left out in the society. We hope that whoever sees this website can help this Persatuan Rumah Caring Kajang Selangor.

Week 5

Last week of October... Catch up a little of interactive web design from friend so I still can understand a little bit what the lecturer is talking about. For the assignment progression, we had chosen few group of color and we had decided how the layout look like. We  had choose Orange and Blue at first, but we will find other color to see whether is more suitable for website or not. Slow progress. We know.

This website is useful for looking for color scheme. Other than searching for color scheme you like, you can also create yourself if you want to. Of course there is other website search for color scheme. But my first choice is using this website COLOURlovers. But sometimes I also used Adobe Kuler to search for color.

In this week, Mr. Yong continue last week class on teaching how to make table. He teaches new things which is Navigation bar that I don't even know how to do it but I will try to catch up from others. 

Week 4

Week 4, what did I learnt on this week for Interactive Web Design? I can say that I learned nothing. I can't even catch up because I missed a class and another class I don't even know what is that at all even I try hard to understand it. I will catch up with my friends the other days. At firsts, is the replacement class for week 3. I missed that class because I had duty for Wellness Campaign that day at canteen 2. I totally forget about I got a class replacement and when someone remind me is too late for me to change the timetable for that duty. And the another day of the class, I am too tired and it is 8am class. Hard to focus. Half opened eyes. And that is the reason I learn nothing. I

I knew that Mr.Yong teaches us about how to make a table in Adobe Dreamweaver. Although I had learned in Semester 2 but I can't really remember how to make it. But by doing this it refreshed my mind that what I had learnt before.

Week 3

When the week comes, I knew that I will use all my time for the assignment start from this week. So.. I need to plan my time well. This week there have no class for Interactive Web Design because it is Public Holiday! ( sounds great but it is not ) And there will be a class replacement next week. In this week, I had chat with a long lost friend which study the same course with me but in different College. We chat about what we had done for the pass assignments and we share some of the things which happen in college. While we chatting, he told me that can search for Code Academy and learn coding from there. It is quite good for me since I am not good on it.

What we probably learn in this Semester is HTML &CSS of course also included JavaScript and jQuery.


Well, we had no progression for our assignment this week even we had search for a web site. Me and my team mates will catch up for the assignment.

Week 2

It's week 2 now, and I am still playing and relaxing like nobody cares. In fact, many assignment started but I am still in holiday mood (sounds bad haha ). Getting a good rest first and after this week that will be sleepless night because of assignments. Burn midnight oil is for a must when the assignment due date is just for a week or few days to let you done. Not just only one assignment, there is many assignment and time flies while you are doing and you don't even notice it's late. In this week, I had learned CSS in Interactive Web Design. What is CSS?? I not really sure even I learned a little bit from internet when Year 1 Semester 2 (because the lecturer asked us to learned from web for our assignment -.- ). In this class, I finally know that CSS means Cascading Style Sheet. I always try my best to understand and learned in the class but I always fail to pay attention because of the class is too early and I feel so sleepy. Too bad. For our group, we had chosen a website to redesign it. It is a non-profit organisation which is an Old Folks Home. Why we choose this website? We think that this website is not nice and still can improve. Of course it doesn't have many page.

Week 1

Hi! I am Pei Chyi currently studying Diploma in Multimedia Design in TAR UC. It is Year 2 now and new semester started with new subjects( of course ). There is just lecture class for this week and somehow I am still relaxing. Attended the lecture class for every subject just to know about what we are going to study in this semester. I am not used to write blog and I am not really good in writing and my English language is not good enough but I will try my best to write every week. By the way, I am writing this blog is mostly for the updates of assignments for Interactive Web Design which everyone in this course must create a blog to write about it. First week of the semester --- got the brief for coming assignment. We had to look for a bad design webpage and redesign it. Well, I am not good at coding, it is hard to understand those code. I had learnt some basics about coding in Year 1 Semester 2 in Fundamental of Webpage. Luckily this is a group work, and so I started to seek out for my group mates. Somehow I had no choice to choose who I want to group for even still have 4 of my friends not yet group. At last, I team up with Jyin and Vicky for this subject's assignment. I hope that everything will turn out good for every assignment.
